The Active Life: Six Sculptures at the Chartres Cathedral

Six women, in various stages of working wool with their hands,
are found on the outer North porch of the Chartres Cathedral in France.
Did you notice that only one woman is looking directly at what she is doing?
What details are capturing your attention and imagination?

On the other side of the voussoir are six women in various stages of contemplation.

“Teach me to work. Teach me to pray.” comes to my mind and lips when I contemplate these women.
What do you want to say to God now that you have spent time with these images?
