Children’s Hospital Labyrinth (Westmead, Australia)

What a great gift it is to have a labyrinth accessible to the children who are patients at the Westmead Hospital, parents and others whose lives have been turned upside down by the illness of a young family member, as well as hospital staff members who count stress as a normal part of their work-life. This Chartres-style labyrinth, installed in 2012, was the first ever on a hospital property in Australia. The hedge and trees around it give it a sense of privacy, calm, and safety. The four benches on its perimeter add to its restfulness. I pray that many will find solace, strength, and healing on its path.
